How Valorant betting works
A Valorant match is a best-of series — Bo3 in most stages, Bo5 in grand finals. Each map is a race to 13 rounds (overtime at 12-12), with teams swapping between attack and defence at half-time. Before a Bo3, teams veto and pick from the active map pool, so the maps played reflect each side's comfort picks. Markets are built on the series, the individual maps, or the rounds inside a map — the same shape as CS2.
Live in-play opens early in map 1 and prices update round-by-round through the economy swings, with cash-out available throughout.
Valorant markets explained
| Market | What it is | Typical line / odds |
|---|---|---|
| Match-winner (series) | Who wins the Bo3 / Bo5 | Favourite 1.30-1.50; even ~1.90 |
| Map handicap | −1.5 / +1.5 maps in a Bo3 | Fav −1.5 ~1.90-2.40 (must 2-0) |
| Total maps O/U | 2.5 in Bo3, 3.5 in Bo5 | Over 2.5 (2-1) ~1.70-1.95 |
| Map winner | Each map after veto | Priced per map |
| Total rounds O/U | Rounds in a single map | Line ~21.5-22.5 |
| Round handicap | Map margin, e.g. −3.5 | Near even money |
| Pistol round winner | Round 1 / round 13 | ~1.85 each side |
| First to 5 rounds | Race within a map | Side-strength read |
| Correct map score | 2-0 / 2-1 / 0-2 / 1-2 | Higher odds, exact result |
Start with the match-winner and total maps Over 2.5. Map and round handicaps reward map-pool knowledge — build that read before sizing up on them.
5 Valorant betting strategies
- The veto decides the maps — study it. After bans, a Bo3 is played on each team's comfort picks plus a decider. A favourite dragged onto its weak map (check vlr.gg win-rates) is undervalued by the series line — back the underdog map winner or take +1.5 maps.
- Defence-sided maps push round totals Under. Some maps and metas favour the defending side, producing lopsided halves. On a strong-defence map with a clear favourite, total rounds Under and the −3.5 round handicap are live.
- Track the patch and agent meta. Ability and map-pool changes each act shift which comps are strong. Teams that adapt fastest beat the lagging pre-match line — weight results on the current patch, not three months ago.
- Pistols snowball. Winning the pistol (round 1 / round 13) plus the bonus rounds builds an economy lead. Pistol-winner is ~1.85, but the team that takes both pistols wins the map well above 50%.
- Region depth is uneven. International leagues (Americas, EMEA, Pacific, China) differ in depth; teams inflated by weak Challengers regions often fall off at international Masters/Champions LANs. Discount soft qualifier records.
Map pool & side balance — where the Valorant edge lives
Valorant's betting shape is close to CS2, but two things are distinctly Valorant: the rotating map pool (Riot adds and removes maps each act) and how strongly some maps favour one side. After the Bo3 veto, the maps played are never neutral:
| Factor | What it does | Market read |
|---|---|---|
| Veto / map pick | Each team plays its comfort maps + a decider | Price each map after veto — a favourite on its weak map is overvalued |
| Defender-sided map | Strong defence produces lopsided halves | Total rounds Under and −3.5 round handicap on a clear favourite |
| Agent comp / patch | Ability and map changes shift strong comps | Teams that adapt fastest beat the lagging pre-match line |
| Pistol + bonus rounds | Winning round 1/13 builds an economy lead | Pistol-winner ~1.85, but both pistols → map win well above 50% |
Unlike CS2, Valorant adds an ability economy on top of the gun economy — teams also manage ult points and signature abilities, which is why "save" rounds and forced retakes swing momentum and feed the first-to-5 and round-handicap markets.
Worked example — +1.5 map handicap on the underdog
A favourite is priced ~1.35 to win the Bo3, but the veto hands the underdog one of its best maps. Backing the underdog outright is risky, so instead take +1.5 maps (the underdog "wins" the bet by taking the series to a deciding map 3). The series ends 2-1 to the favourite — but +1.5 maps still lands, because the underdog won at least one map. It is the classic way to back a live underdog with a buffer when the map pool, not the seed, says the series is closer than the price. A $10 bet at 1.80 returns $18.
Common Valorant betting mistakes
- Betting the series price onto one map. After the veto each map is its own contest — a favourite on the underdog's pick is far more vulnerable.
- Ignoring the map pool rotation. A team's "best map" may have just been removed or added — check current-act map win-rates, not last act.
- Overrating soft regions. Teams inflated by weak Challengers often fall off at international Masters/Champions LANs.
- Forcing totals without side reads. Defender-sided maps and clear favourites lean Under — don't bet Over on reputation alone.
- Max-staking pistol props. Fun and fast, but a near coin-flip — size accordingly.

Dates shift each season — confirm the live VCT schedule in-app before dated accumulators. The VCT 2026 dates above are as published by Riot.
Clearing the welcome bonus with Valorant
The VIP4YOU welcome bonus needs 5× rollover on accumulators of 3+ legs at 1.40+ within 30 days. VCT league days carry enough Bo3s to assemble this:
- 3-leg match-winner acca from one league day, favourites at 1.40+ each.
- Total maps Over 2.5 across evenly-matched Bo3s — usually 1.70-1.95 a leg.
- Spread title risk with a CS2 or Dota 2 leg.
Model the rollover on the wagering calculator before depositing.
Valorant betting FAQ
What Valorant markets does 1xBet offer?
Series match-winner (Bo3/Bo5), map winner, map handicap (±1.5 maps), total maps Over/Under (2.5 in Bo3, 3.5 in Bo5), total rounds per map (line usually 21.5-22.5), round handicap, pistol-round winner, first to 5 rounds, correct map score, overtime yes/no, and player props for major events.
How does the total rounds market work in Valorant?
A Valorant map is first to 13 rounds, with overtime if it reaches 12-12. The total-rounds line per map sits around 21.5-22.5: a one-sided map (13-5) goes Under, a close map (13-11) or any overtime goes Over. Read it like a CS2 round total — mismatched teams and strong defensive sides lean Under.
Does the map pool affect Valorant betting?
Yes. Riot rotates maps in and out of the competitive pool each act, and teams have strong and weak maps within it. After the Bo3 veto, the maps played are rarely neutral — check each team's recent map win-rates (vlr.gg) before a map-winner or map-handicap bet, because a favourite forced onto its weak map is undervalued by the series price.
How does agent meta change Valorant odds?
Agent and ability balance patches shift which compositions are strong on each map. Teams that adapt their comps to a new patch quickly gain an edge that pre-match lines lag behind. Attack/defence side balance also varies by map, which feeds pistol-round and first-to-5 markets.
Which Valorant tournaments does 1xBet cover?
The VCT (Valorant Champions Tour): Champions (the flagship), Masters events, Kickoff, and the regional international leagues — Americas, EMEA, Pacific and China — plus Game Changers and Challengers qualifiers with softer lines.
Are Valorant bets eligible for the welcome bonus?
Yes. Valorant selections at 1.40+ count toward the 5× accumulator wagering on the VIP4YOU welcome bonus. VCT league days run multiple Bo3s, so a 3-leg accumulator from one day's schedule is easy to assemble.
