Cash Out Explained

Cash out is a settlement tool, not a market. At any point while a bet is live, the bookmaker offers to buy it back at a price reflecting the current odds. Accept and the bet is closed immediately — you take the offered amount regardless of how the event ends. It's risk management: bank a profit, or rescue part of a stake that's going wrong.

Full, partial and auto cash-out

• Full cash out — settle the entire bet now for the offered value.
• Partial cash out — take some out now, leave the rest running on the original outcome.
• Auto cash out — set a target value; the bet closes automatically when the cash-out offer reaches it (useful in fast live markets).

The hidden margin — why cash out costs you

The cash-out figure always builds in a bookmaker margin, so it's slightly below the bet's true value. Over many bets, habitual cashing out returns less than holding winning bets to settlement. It's a fair tool for managing a specific risk, not a long-term edge.

When to use cash out (and when not to)

• Use it to lock a profit on a big acca with one leg left, or to cut a loss when the game state has turned.
• Use it to free up funds when you've spotted better value elsewhere.

• Don't cash out reflexively after every goal; you bleed value to the margin.
