| Decimal | 2.50 | Total return per 1 staked (1.50 profit + 1 stake) | — |
| Fractional | 3/2 | Profit per stake: 3 profit for every 2 staked | (num ÷ den) + 1 |
| American + | +150 | Profit on a 100 stake | (odds ÷ 100) + 1 |

| Implied % | 40% | Probability the odds imply | 1 ÷ (prob ÷ 100) |
Why implied probability is the number that matters
Decimal, fractional and American are three ways of writing the same number — your return. The real edge comes from implied probability: convert the odds to a percentage, compare it to your own estimate of the true chance, and bet only when your estimate is higher. That gap is "value", and it is the only thing that makes betting profitable long-term.
Example: a team is priced at decimal 2.50 → 40% implied probability. If your research says they win 50% of the time, the bet has positive expected value. If you think it's 30%, the price is a trap. The converter above gives you the implied % instantly so you can make that judgement on every bet. Learn the terms on our betting glossary.
Spotting the bookmaker margin
Add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. A perfectly fair market sums to exactly 100%. Real markets sum to more — the excess is the bookmaker margin (also called the overround, vig or juice). A two-way market priced 1.90 / 1.90 implies 52.6% + 52.6% = 105.2%, i.e. a 5.2% margin. The lower the total, the better the value. Sharp bettors line-shop across books to find the tightest margins.
Odds converter FAQ
How do I convert decimal odds to fractional?
Subtract 1 from the decimal odds, then express the result as a fraction. Decimal 2.50 → 2.50 − 1 = 1.50 = 3/2. Decimal 1.50 → 0.50 = 1/2. The converter does this instantly and reduces the fraction to its simplest form.
How do I convert decimal odds to implied probability?
Divide 1 by the decimal odds and multiply by 100. Decimal 2.50 → 1 ÷ 2.50 = 0.40 = 40%. Decimal 1.50 → 66.7%. Implied probability is what the odds "say" the chance of winning is — if you think the real chance is higher, the bet has value.
What are American (moneyline) odds?
American odds are shown as a positive or negative number. A negative number (e.g. −150) is how much you stake to win 100. A positive number (e.g. +200) is how much you win on a 100 stake. −150 = decimal 1.67; +200 = decimal 3.00.
How do I convert American odds to decimal?
For positive American odds: (odds ÷ 100) + 1, so +200 → 3.00. For negative American odds: (100 ÷ |odds|) + 1, so −150 → 1.67. The converter handles both signs automatically.
Which odds format does 1xBet use?
1xBet lets you switch between decimal, fractional, American, Hong Kong, Indonesian and Malay formats in account settings. Decimal is the default on the international platform and the easiest for calculating returns: stake × decimal odds = total payout. Use code VIP4YOU at registration for the welcome bonus.
What is the bookmaker margin and how do I spot it?
Add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in a market. A fair market sums to 100%; anything above is the bookmaker margin (overround). A 1X2 market summing to 105% has a 5% margin — the lower the margin, the better the value for you.
